Personal Description:

I have been working in the field of art and design for more than 15 years. For the last 5 years, I have also been teaching art.

Teaching Experience:

I possess the knowledge and skills required to teach students from primary school to A-levels, and I am continually expanding my expertise to provide the best possible support to my students. Over the past seven years, I have taught students of various ages and levels, both online and in-person. These students range from younger learners who need foundational support to older students preparing for exams across all exam boards. My teaching approach is personalized and student-centered. I recognize that every student has unique learning needs, so I begin by assessing each student’s current level and goals, and then create tailored lesson plans that match their individual learning styles. Whether students benefit from visual aids, interactive activities, or in-depth explanations, I integrate these elements into my lessons to make the learning process engaging and effective. Through clear instruction, practice exercises, and real-world examples, my lessons become both enjoyable and productive. I am passionate about helping each of my students reach their full potential, supporting them to feel confident and motivated in their studies, and nurturing a genuine interest in the subject matter. I take great pride in my students’ progress and achievements, and I strive to ensure every lesson is productive, enjoyable, and tailored to their individual needs.

Teaching Approach:

A typical drawing lesson with me is interactive and dynamic, designed to inspire creativity and build technical skills. I focus on both foundational skills and creative expression. Here's a breakdown of what one of my lessons might look like:

Each session begins with a short, fun warm-up exercise to loosen up the hand and mind. This could involve simple sketching activities like line drills, shapes, or basic shading techniques.

We move on to specific topics depending on the student’s goals or the curriculum. For beginners, this might include learning how to draw basic shapes, perspectives, and proportions. For more advanced students, we explore concepts such as anatomy, light and shadow, textures, and composition.

I often introduce themed projects to keep students engaged and motivated. For example, a lesson might be dedicated to drawing a still life, a portrait, or an animal. These projects allow students to practice their skills in a more focused context.

I guide students in exploring different drawing techniques and styles, from pencil and charcoal to ink or digital media. I encourage them to experiment with various tools to find their unique artistic voice.

Throughout the lesson, I provide real-time feedback, helping students improve their techniques and understanding. This might include discussing specific elements like proportion, perspective, or shading to refine their work.

I assign practice tasks or mini-projects to help students consolidate what they’ve learned during the session. This encourages continued development outside of our lessons.

Through clear instruction, practice exercises, and real-world examples, my lessons are both enjoyable and productive.
