Information About Vanessa - Randburg tutor

Personal Description:

I am a hardworking and committed individual. My passion for what I do shows in the results my learners produce. Tutoring allows me the opportunity to positively impact a lot of people. Getting the chance to see the academic progress in my learners is one of the best parts of what I do. I’ve also been blessed enough to forge relationships with some of the most incredible learners over the 5 years I’ve tutored. I don’t plan on stopping any time soon. It has been such a positive impact on my life that it inspired me to start a blog. I hope to be a blessing to many more learners.

Tutoring Experience:

I’ve been tutoring for the past 5 years. My learners ranged in age from 4 years old to 18 years old (Grade RR to Grade 12). I also had the opportunity to teach for a year at a college. The majority of the subjects I taught were in the Business Management Department. These included: Personnel Management (N5 – N6), Sales Management (N5 – N6), and Business Studies (Grade 12).

Tutoring Approach:

The one thing I try to achieve with all my learners is learning autonomy. I don’t like my learners to be dependent on me. My approach to tutoring is one that is centered on empowering my learners so that they can complete tasks on their own. I am often hands-off when conducting lessons. I’ll explain a concept as many times as is required of me. Once the concept has been understood, assessments will immediately be given. This will show whether the learner really did understand the concepts taught. I am a big believer in giving out assessments (homework or tests) as a way for my learners to practice. Teaching my learners to be responsible for their own work is also very important. This is a lesson that will greatly benefit them in the future.
