Personal Description:

I am currently pursuing CIMA - Operational Level and Certificate Theory in Accountancy and inspire to learn more about accounting. I am a motivated, hard working and dedicated person who gives 100% to my endeavours. I have been tutoring universities,colleges, High school and primary students since 2009 and find tutoring an inspiring and fulfilling job which not only brings out the best in me, but allows me the opportunity to help others reach their potential.

Tutoring Experience:

I have been tutoring alongside my studies for the past eight years and have thoroughly enjoyed it! I have seen students gain confidence in their capacities and reach their goals. Teaching comes naturally to me and have always found myself in situations of sharing this. I have also volunteered consistently at different secondary schools to assist student prepare for their matric exams. My most proud achievements so far have been working with a student who managed to learn accounting from basic and seeing the day they graduate their Junior degree and some qualifying as Chartered Accountants. This said, I think it is of the utmost importance to see each student as an individual who has their own strengths and learning capacities in order to optimise the outcome of the tutoring interaction.

Tutoring Approach:

If there is one thing I have learnt in my formal tutoring experience it is that no two students are alike. I find that the greatest skill you can offer as a tutor is to be able to identify the way in which the student learns and adapt your teaching style to them. Each student has their own strengths, learning capacities and goals and it in order to optimise the tutoring interaction I make sure that I align our lessons with these qualities. I believe that each child can achieve a proper understanding of the work and then practice it enough so that they can apply their knowledge to the best of their ability. I spent a great deal of time through my schooling career experimenting with ways of approaching learning and I feel I have found a solid strategy for this. It would be my honour to use this opportunity to share my knowledge with you rather than you struggling on your own! When you can break a rather complex subject down into straightforward, easy to follow steps, you make the process so much simpler. This, time management and clear, patient explanations are the key to a successful academic career.
