Personal Description:
I am a driven and passionate tutor, who would love to help you excel academically and provide you with the tools to ace every test and exam.
I have lived my entire life in Johannesburg. I studied law and practised as an attorney for 4several years before following my passion to become a teacher. I obtained my teaching degree with distinction and have 5 years of teaching experience in both the IEB/CAPS curriculum as well as the Cambridge curriculum at all levels.
Tutoring Experience:
During my law degree, I actively assisted friends and housemates studying law in understanding complex concepts, completing assignments, and preparing for tests and exams. This early experience sparked my interest in teaching and mentoring.
After earning my law degree, I tutored a Grade 8 student with learning disabilities, helping her improve significantly over time in both homework and test preparation. Witnessing her growth reinforced my passion for supporting students in achieving their goals.
As an associate attorney, I taught and mentored many candidate attorneys, equipping them with the skills to naviga**Contact Detail Removed**gal challenges confidently. Today, many of them are successfully pursuing careers in the legal industry—a point of pride in my journey as both a teacher and mentor.
From my teaching degree to the present, I have tutored students across a broad range of levels—from Grade 3 to matric and undergraduate studies. Each of these students has achieved their goals with my assistance, whether it involved learning to read fluently and confidently, securing university admission, or successfully completing their degree.
Tutoring Approach:
Each student is different so there is no standard approach to tutoring that I follow.
I start by understanding my student and what drives them - their interests and what learning method they respond to best. After I have this understanding I can start assisting them in developing a study method that works for them whether it is in understanding and completing assignments or preparing and excelling in tests and exams.
