Information About Rebecca - Khayelitsha tutor

Personal Description:

Hi there everyone. I am a hard-working, enthusiastic and optimistic student currently in her second year of a BSc Chemistry: Chemical Biology degree. I am approachable and easy-going so I know that people will be comfortable with me. I like to make situations as fun and as productive as possible, so be ready for some fun hard work. I love to help and support students who are struggling with certain subjects because I know what it's like to struggle and I have worked out my own methods of helping myself and others.

Tutoring Experience:

I have started my own tutoring venture and have tutored 3 students in grades 6 and 8 respectively since the beginning of the year.

Tutoring Approach:

Like I mentioned earlier, I know what it's like to struggle and so I have worked out my own methods to make certain topics easier to understand with the use of colour, diagrams, elaborate notes as well as fun and easy to remember descriptions and analogies.
I normally like to have the student tell me prior to meeting exactly what he or she is struggling with so that I can prepare properly. I will ask the student to attempt to answer a certain question just to see how he/she goes about it, so that I can determine exactly where he/she is going wrong. From there, we can set certain goals with deadlines so that we are held accountable. I also like to leave each student with work to do by themselves so that they can practice.
