Personal Description:

Education,with a particular focus on literature and writing, has long been my passion.I am dedicated to my students and to making a significant contribution to education. I have been successful in helping students achieve their potential in their English Home Language studies, both in school and in extra mural activities such as the English Olympiad, Writing competitions and Public Speaking conditions.

Tutoring Experience:

I have had thirty years of experience teaching Matric English and as Head of the English Department. I also have many years of experience as a senior sub examiner on Paper 2 and as a portfolio moderator. I taught Matrics solely online in 2020 with pleasing results. I prefer to teach students from grades 10 ,11 and 12 rather than younger students as all my experience has been with the seniors of the school.

Tutoring Approach:

My lessons are online live-streaming and interactive tutorials to help students to discover their true potential. I help students to assess their strengths and weaknesses objectively and I work with dedication in order to help them to improve exam techniques and to achieve their goals. I keep a close parallel between their tutoring lessons and their lessons in class in order to be able to guide them effectively. I am passionate about my subject and I am dedicated to sparking the same interest in my students.
