Information About Pat - Bethelsdorp tutor

Personal Description:

I have a Doctorate in History from the University of the Witwatersrand; a Masters in History from Rhodes and an Honours degree from Unisa.

My passion for History stems from a fascination with the past and the unique stories that are embedded in that past.

Tutoring Experience:

I have been lecturing History at university level for 35 years.

I also designed a course called Coping with History to convey the skills that are needed.

Given the fact that many of my students have been English second language students I have normally taught Essay Writing skills within the History courses

Tutoring Approach:

Engagement with the students through questions and discussions is very important to me.

This way I can see where the student's needs are, but also I can ensure that my teaching is understood
