Tutoring Experience:

My exposure to teaching began at an early age as I come from a family of educators. Majority of my close and extended family are teachers. So naturally I tutored my fellow classmates whilst attending high school. This was followed by two years of classroom teaching after I had completed my studies. I taught English, Social Sciences (History & Geography) and Technology (Arts & Crafts). I also tutored local students after hours whilst I was employed in the corporate sector. I therefore understand the challenges one encounters and the strategies to be applied when teaching young learners.
I have also worked in the global corporate environment for many years and have experience in communicating and working with people of different cultures and languages. I therefore understand the needs of business professionals. During my spell in the global corporate environment thereafter, I mentored and coached fellow employees and graduates (I am a certified mentor and coach). In addition, I developed and presented training material on various subject matter in the work environment to colleagues locally and internationally. This has empowered me in understanding the needs of business professionals and corporate entities.

I am a certified TEFL Tutor with vast experience in teaching and mentoring of learners. I have 2 years of classroom teaching experience in addition to 18 years of mentoring and coaching experience. I have conducted numerous online presentations and training sessions with fellow employees from multiple countries during my working career.

Tutoring Approach:

I have a passion for imparting knowledge and skills and always strive to share my knowledge, skills and experiences in order to benefit other people. I aim to impart knowledge to learners, young and old, in a safe and engaging environment. I will guide, motivate, support and inspire you during your learning journey. We will utilize learning techniques like CLT that are proven to simplify the learning process, whether it be improving your grammar or speaking and listening skills or doing a business presentation

I have learnt over the years that the key is to make the learning journey enjoyable and relevant to your needs. I make the lessons enjoyable by ensuring that the lessons are fully interactive, by including many different activities such as role play, discussions and scenarios into the lesson. The activities are based on your interests and hobbies, whether it be sports or movies or art, I adapt the learning activity to suit your lifestyle. At the same time, I will ensure that the work being learnt is relevant to your needs. We will discuss your needs during our trial lesson.
