Personal Description:

Hi my name is Moipone, im 19 years old and im currently pursuing my bachelor's degree in accounting science at Wits university. I have had a passion for accounting since high school and this is evident as I did a commerce stream in high school and am now doing accounting science. I am kind, generous and also have a passion for teaching others, I once read a book that suggests that we only show love through acts of service and gestures, and not by just expressing how we feel. So, Id like to show my generosity, kindness and passion by helping other people the way I can, academically. Im looking forward to seeing you when we have our session, and I mostly look forward to seeing you progress and exceed your expectations.

Tutoring Experience:

I have not had any formal teaching experiences. But I have tutored my friend Financial Accounting 1 in 2022. I asked her to write a review and this is what she wrote: "I personally have not met someone who is as passionate about Financial Accounting as she is, not only that but she also likes helping the people around her as well. I can recall numerous incidents whereby she takes time that she could be using to study to help other people, especially with financial accounting 1. She is a natural leader and knows how to lead a discussion amongst our friends". You may think this is biased as she is one of my friends but I assure you that this is an honest review. I am a selfless person and always willing to help even if it is exam season, with no means to be ostentatious.

Tutoring Approach:

The purpose for me tutoring is not showcase how much I know or how brilliant I am, it is to help the tutee progress in her academics and also be confident in herself and her answers. That is why I avoid talking a lot unnecessarily and allow the tutee to express their feelings. I also make sure to focus on key principles when teaching a certain topic. This is because question papers change every year and if you focus on what was done on one specific paper you wont be able to apply it in the next question paper. Knowing the principles ensures that you are able to answer a question in any question paper regardless of how complicated the question may seem. I also lean a lot towards exam technique. Knowing the content is not enough if the tutee will not be able to present it on a question paper in a way that will help maximise marks. So, I teach tutees on how can you analyse a scenario, how can you analyse a required, and how can you manage your time.
