Personal Description:

I am a self-motivated, friendly person that loves to work with people and gain new experiences. Taking on tutoring allows for me to gain some independence as a young adult whilst doing something I enjoy. I love taking on new opportunities and challenges that allow to me to grow as a person and develop interpersonal skills that are beneficial. I am an efficient, hardworking, patient and dedicated person which can aid in tutoring people and getting the job done. I like to engage with people and express mine and my students creativity in sessions and also outside of sessions. This helps me see my students grow as an individual in my sessions and in their personal lives.

Tutoring Experience:

I have been self employed tutor for the past 4 years. This has allowed me to work with different people and learn what works best with them. This creates a better learning environment based on what my students are comfortable with. Their interests are incorporated to better their learning and the tutoring service provided. My tutoring services helps gain more teaching experience and continue my passion for helping out where I can.

Tutoring Approach:

I start with asking about my students interests, dislikes, challenges and feelings. This helps me understand where their mindset is and care not only for their grades, but their mental well-being. I then incorporate all the information gathered to use as references during the sessions. This allows them to engage more with their learning and keep them interested in the material. I go over the agenda for the sessions so the learner has an overview of what is to be expected in each session in order to prepare for productive sessions and an opportunity for them to ask questions. My teaching methods are inclusive and interactive to get the learner more involved in the sessions. Understanding my students helps build trust and allows my students to open up about their weaknesses. I also create notes, quizzes, tests and practice questions based on the material to assess how comfortable the students are with certain topics. This helps the student to recall the information.
