Personal Description:

Hi there,

My main thing is pure mathematics, I have a B.Sc. Honours in the subject from UCT with distinction. I did IB Math HL back in the day and the GCSE's so I can help out with the international syllabi too. I fell in love with the subject very early by watching lots of Mindset learn, when I was 10 or so I asked my mom for a Grade 11 maths textbook and finished all the exercises there. They also gave me a university physics textbook too. Fast forward much later I now have an Honours in pure mathemaitcs with distinction at UCT.

Tutoring Experience:

I taught for FastPrep both running in person workshops for the Allan Gray Orbis Foundation and in person as well for a year. I taught students as a tutor for MAM2000W and MAM1019H at UCT as well.

Tutoring Approach:

Mostly, I view mathematics as simultaneously rational and creative. This means that I try to inspire curiosity and try to get my students to learn why we do the things we do in math, instead of memorising stuff for example. However, all creativity requires mastering skills so I get my students lots of practise and giving real time feedback on their mistakes where I can so that when we discuss higher level concepts we can automatically work with lower level ones.
