Personal Description:

I have recently left full time teaching to give my attention to private tuition. I love interacting with students on a one-to-one basis. I feel I can offer more personal and relevant assistance in this way. I have a patient and calm approach to teaching and feel I can put my students at ease and feel comfortable to ask questions and learn in a safe relationship. I have two fur babies, love nature, reading and spending time with friends.

Tutoring Experience:

I have taught Natural Science and Arts and Culture to Grade 4 and English to Grade 6s and 7s. I have been teaching full-time for over 25 years. Over the years I have offered support classes in English to my learners in small groups. I found these smaller classes to be more effective and personalized than in a normal class as students felt more comfortable in expressing themselves.

Tutoring Approach:

I have a calm, patient, persistent approach to my students. I will tailor my lessons to suit the individual's needs and areas of weakness. I am willing to adapt my methods to the child. If one approach does not work, I will find another way until an understanding is found. I never give up on a student and firmly believe that everyone can reach their goals with the right guidance,
