Personal Description:

My name is Corryn , and I come from a small town in the Northern Cape. I pursued a degree in Accounting at the University of Cape Town (UCT), but along the way, I discovered my true passion for teaching. I initially worked as a high school mathematics teacher, where I found great fulfillment in helping students develop their skills and confidence.

Currently, I am living in Asia, where I teach English while embracing the opportunity to explore new cultures and broaden my horizons. This journey has allowed me to combine my love for education with my desire to see more of the world, making it a truly enriching experience."

Tutoring Experience:

I have been tutoring Mathematics since I completed high school, and in 2023, I had the opportunity to teach grades 8-12 at a school in the Northern Cape. Currently, I am teaching English in Asia, but my passion for Mathematics remains strong, so I continue to tutor on the side.

Tutoring Approach:

I always strive to create a comfortable and supportive learning environment by starting sessions with a quick warm-up, such as engaging icebreakers or get-to-know-you questions. I believe that building rapport with students helps establish trust and openness. Additionally, I make it a priority to consult with my students to understand their preferred learning styles—whether they learn best through visual aids, hands-on practice, or step-by-step explanations. I also incorporate personalized study plans, goal setting, and regular feedback to ensure they feel confident and motivated throughout their learning journey.
