Personal Description:
Konnichiwa! I am a professional Japanese teacher with full qualifications and over 23 years of experience in Japan and New Zealand. Quality lessons for all levels and purposes including conversations, culture, JLPT, NCEA, business, travel and JET programme. Happy learning!
Tutoring Experience:
I have been teaching Japanese at language schools and intermediate/secondary schools both in Japan and in New Zealand for over 25 years. Also, I have offered more than 8300 online lessons in the last seven years to my students from all over the world.
Japanese - As for NCEA , I have taught up to scholarship level with great success. I have created numerous NCEA materials and published NCEA textbooks.
I have taught young students (from 5 years old) to elderly learners (in their 70s), from complete beginner to advanced level. It has been my pleasure to assist them to improve their Japanese language skills and to enjoy Japanese culture further, and to talk about their passion and/or work in the target language.
I am keen to share a rich variety of Japanese cultures - cooking, Ikebana (traditional flower arrangement), calligraphy, origami, songs and more! I am a qualified Ikebana master and also learned calligraphy and Tea ceremony from professionals for years.
A wide variety of teaching and coaching experience also includes Japanese speech contests (many winners), JLPT (Japanese Language Proficiency Test) and Australian language tests. Some of my students progressed into studying Japanese at universities, others succeeded at finding work in Japan.
Tutoring Approach:
Students come first. I consider each student's individual needs, goals, interests and effective learning styles. Through my lessons, I encourage students and assist them realise their potential and increase their confidence.

She helped me pass N2 and N1 within a year and I was very grateful for the amount of energy and time that she put in because preparing for exams can put a lot of stress on a tutor too. She would check up on me for areas to improve and actively look for materials to complement the lessons.
She is a tutor that makes you not so nervous about learning a new language. She listens to your request and updates the request content after each lesson. She is also very knowledgeable of **Web Address Removed** and other cultures and I have learnt a lot from her.
Thank you, Takako.
Thanks heaps
