Personal Description:

Hi, my name is Selena. I'm from China and currently living in New Zealand. I am a CTCSOL (Certificate for Teachers of Chinese to Speakers of Other Language) qualified teacher and have a master's degree in Language Teaching and Learning from Auckland University. I have been teaching Chinese to foreigners for years. I enjoy the language teaching and have made friends with lots of my students. I'm patient, easy-going and I'd love to offer you help in your Chinese learning.

Tutoring Experience:

I'm been teaching both Chinese and English for more than 10 years. My students are from different countries and their ages range from 5-80. I teach them in the classroom, at their houses or through skype. I teach Chinese from beginner level to advanced level.

Tutoring Approach:

I do Chinese teaching with both adults and kids. I would tailor my teaching to the needs of my students. I’m good at using different teaching materials and various teaching methodologies to arouse students’ interest and let them enjoy the language learning process. I also encourage my students to put what they've learned into practice. There's a lot of listening and speaking practice in my class. Let's start the fun journey Chinese learning together!

Selena is currently tutoring him online during his Yr 13 school year.
The progress he has made ( even within the first few sessions) was noticeable to him and his school teacher.
Selena is a professional, friendly, encouraging and dedicated tutor. She is clear in her teachings, instructions and correspondence.
My son feels very comfortable and happy to work with her and finds her lessons to be of great value.
I highly recommend Selena as a tutor.
