Personal Description:
I've always wanted to understand how things work. As a result I studied physics (and all the maths/sciences) right through high school. While I grew up in New Zealand and did most of my schooling here, as an undergraduate I gained a scholarship to study at the University of Melbourne (Trinity College) for one year, and also gained a scholarship to study for my PhD in the USA. If you're interested in learning about those opportunities we can make that part of your coaching sessions. I have a PhD in physics and I wrote code for early machine learning algorithms.
Tutoring Experience:
I've been tutoring students at the high school and university level for 20+ years. I won several awards for my teaching of the undergraduate labs at university, and have helped many students get the grades required for entrance to medical school.
Tutoring Approach:
Every student is different, and I'm here to help you keep at it and "click" on these topics. Physics isn't an obvious subject, and it can take several tries to find the explanation that makes sense. I'm here to help you think in the way that gets you the best results and help you enjoy the process.
