I am passionate about tutoring, and eager to help students find their passion, either by providing additional content specific interactive sessions, or by helping to find a good study method/discipline (or both).

I focus on tutoring that goes beyond just homework and tests—I aim to foster a mindset shift in students. For this reason, I usually require advance payment for a minimum of 10 hours of lessons.

From Sofaia (/5): Rik was awesome to work with! I took accounting in my first year at Uni as an additional course with zero experience and struggled with it. He made accounting less complicated than it appeared to be to someone like myself. He taught the lecture content that I struggled with in a simple way which made it easier to understand. I went from having two D grades in my first few assessments to getting a B in the next! He was also flexible at times when I needed to postpone sessions, which is key for full time university students who also have responsibilities to their families. I encourage anyone looking for an accounting tutor to work with Rik.

I feel incredibly fortunate to have found Rik and I honestly can’t recommend him highly enough. Michael has developed a great working relationship with Rik and he really enjoys his teaching and company. Most importantly Michael has gained confidence in himself and he has started to really enjoy the subject. Rik is very organised with his lessons and reliable, he has never cancelled or let Michael down. I pay for Michael’s tutoring lessons in advance, buying a seven week package. Rik is very honest with his lessons and I can assure any potential parent that you will be getting great value for money.

From Britney (/5): I found Rik to be a great tutor. He was very patient with me and explained things in a simple and easy to understand way. We focused on what needed to be done and he was great at staying on topic. Rik also had prepared the sessions well, so when it was time to start we could jump straight in and get the work done. Our tutoring sessions were done over zoom which was no worries at all and I found these to be just as beneficial as a face to face session would have been. I worked on data analysis and statistics with Rik and would highly recommend him to anyone needing a tutor in this area.

Empathetic and makes sure that you follow difficult concepts before proceeding to the next subject. I am now using him in my Economics paper as well.
