Personal Description:
I am currently a first year BSc Psychology student at the University of Auckland. I enjoy tutoring, ice skating, dance, and spending quality time with my loved ones.
Tutoring Experience:
I have two years of tutoring experience, teaching NCEA level biology students where I have been able to learn different ways of teaching students. In addition, I was part of the peer tutoring group in high-school where we helped with tutoring students from years below us.
Tutoring Approach:
I usually try and cater my lessons to students in a way that helps them learn better. My teaching methods vary from using PowerPoint slides, practice questions, quizzes, and online whiteboard. Sometimes students prefer listening to me talk about the sessions, and during those days we have a conversation about the topic where I ask them to explain a concept we have learned prior to that sessions. It really just depends on how the student learns, and so I change my ways based on it.
