Personal Description:
With many years experience of teaching Chemistry, I still have great passion for this subject.
Tutoring Experience:
I am a fully qualified and current Secondary school teacher in Chemistry and Science. I have tutored privately as well for over 25 years, both to individual students and to small groups–––––––––––in NZ and overseas.
Tutoring Approach:
I very much enjoy private tuition and helping students to make progress with their studies. I am able to teach the subject and give students practice with many questions to consolidate their understanding in each tutorial. I can also provide revision notes. As a current teacher, I am very familiar with Chemistry and Science NCEA courses and content as well as IB Chemistry SL level.
My tutoring is adapted to suit student needs and abilities.
I prefer to tutor at my home either after school or early evenings on weekdays or at weekends.
I also offer online lessons via Zoom.

MargotFrom Cameron (5/5): Margot has been an excellent tutor for my son doing Level 3 Chemistry. This is a subject he found difficult and Margot's tuition has been extremely helpful. She is knowledgeable and very friendly and pleasant to work with. My son found his sessions really helped with understanding the material and also helped him to enjoy chemistry more. Margot's communication with me as the parent was really excellent. I would recommend Margot to anyone looking for a tutor for chemistry.

The girls found Margot to be very approachable and adaptable at each lesson. The extra resources Margot provided, her clear explanations and systematic approach was really appreciated by the girls. The advice and tips on how to approach NCEA internals and externals were also extremely helpful. The girls experience has been incredibility positive and we (parents & the girls) would not hesitate to recommend Margot to anyone needing some extra help with Chemistry. Margot teaches quickly, yet thoroughly, leaving plenty of time for revision and practice. Her explanations are concise and simple which make memorising for exams much easier, and she has plenty of helpful resources to share which helped me very much in preparation for my exam

We've found Margot lovely to deal with and extremely accommodating.
