Personal Description:

Hi! Kia ora! I'm Louisa and I help motivated speakers of all languages to become effective English communicators, and help others to land their dream offers from global companies by advancing their English communication skills, and improving their accent and speaking clarity.

Tutoring Experience:

Louisa became interested in teaching English to speakers of other languages after many years of having an interest in other cultures and hosting international students in her family. This interest began while she was studying at Tauranga Girls’ College. In addition to hosting international students throughout her five years at college, Louisa also studied Te Reo Māori for five years. In 2012, Louisa became one of two “Kaupapa Māori” prefects, where she organised various events, while on the executive council.

Louisa went on to study a Bachelor of Social Sciences at the University of Waikato, majoring in sociology, with leadership communication as her supporting subject. While at university, she also completed a paper in Te Reo Māori. In her last year at university, Louisa became a mentor for new international students at the university. In 2017, Louisa graduated with a Bachelor of Social Sciences majoring in sociology with first class honours.

In 2019, Louisa studied a TESOL course at Bay Learning Academy, graduating with a TESOL/TEFL Certificate - NZQA Level 5. Bay Learning Academy hired her and she gained many skills while working there as an ESOL teacher for 11 months. Louisa is continuing her love of teaching and teaching online from home.
