Information About Jude - New Brighton tutor

Personal Description:

I am a current first-year undergraduate student at the University of Canterbury working towards my Bachelor of Science in Financial Engineering. Though studying does keep me busy on most days, in my free time I enjoy dancing, gaming from time to time, and cleaning - perhaps not the most exciting, but certainly satisfying! As for tutoring I completely understand the stress that can sometimes come with schoolwork. That's why my goal, as a tutor, is to relieve that stress and be that guy you can count on - and try to make the learning process as enjoyable as it can be!

Tutoring Experience:

In the past, I have tutored Year 9 and 10 Mathematics in a group setting for Cantamath, an annual intermediate and secondary school math competition. I have also helped classmates one-on-one within various classes. Though my experience is slightly limited when it comes to private tutoring, I will ensure that with my preparedness and determined personality I can provide the best service possible!

Tutoring Approach:

In Year 13, I achieved an A+ grade in the University of Canterbury's MATH199 STAR course alongside an NCEA Scholarship in English. The one reason I was able to achieve these results was through the vast amount of research I did into the psychology and applications of studying.

In my lessons, typically ranging from 30 minutes to 1 hour*, I will use these techniques to present information in a way that is easy to follow and encourage further learning outside of our lessons. I also offer up to 1 hour of a free orientation session to run through my approach and to tailor to your individual needs and wants for future sessions.
