Personal Description:

I moved to New Zealand from the UK just over a year ago and I am loving living here. In my spare time, I love to attend the theatre, art/literacy festivals and explore the outdoors.

Tutoring Experience:

I have over 5 years of teaching experience and have worked with students of all ages, abilities and backgrounds. As a passionate and enthusiastic teacher, I am confident in my ability to foster student growth and achievement- which I have done successfully in both the UK and NZ. I am a Specialist Classroom teacher at a prestigious Grammar School- responsible for training other teachers in teaching and learning.

Subjects and year groups taught:
- English to year groups 7-13 (including GCSE, NZQA and Cambridge)
- Psychology Alevel taught to year groups 12 and 13
- Currently teaching NZQA levels 2 and 3

Tutoring Approach:

My tutoring approach is student-centered, focusing on building a supportive and motivating environment to help students succeed. Our session will meet the needs of the student to help aid their knowledge and understanding. I have a great bank of both English and psychology resources to draw upon and tailor my lessons accordingly- all materials will be provided. I also really enjoy seeing students grow both academically and personally. Therefore, I am committed to the continuous learning and development of both myself and my pupils. My hope is that I can help foster a love of the subject by making it relevant to students’ experiences of their world today.

As I am a full time teacher, I am only able to offer online sessions Monday- Thursday.
