Personal Description:
I am passionate about chemistry, and science in general. I received a 100% grade for CHEM191 in 2020, and am currently doing my PhD research in medicinal chemistry. I am a patient person that is approachable and have always enjoyed helping friends with scientific concepts.
I am the one with the black Flying Nun Records shirt in my profile picture. This photo was taken as part of a summer research scholarship.
Tutoring Experience:
I have some private tutoring experience at both high school and university level for physics and chemistry. I tutored 10 students in CHEM191 2023, and my students were generally very pleased with their results, doing better than they had originally expected.
Tutoring Approach:
I generally like to help students work through conceptual questions and problems - as part of this I will find alternative ways to explain things in an easy to understand manner. I find that tutoring works best when students ask questions or have material they would like to look at together, but I am also able to pre-prepare some teaching.
