Personal Description:
I am an older woman, originally from Britain, who has been living in NZ for over 40 years. I homeschooled my three daughters for 7 years to keep a balance in their education because they were very musical and played a number of instruments, as well as danced. I have mainly lived on life-style blocks and over the years have immersed myself in NZ nature. So three years ago I moved to this fantastic city of Wellington to discover the things that a city had to offer me - which is a tremendous amount!
Tutoring Experience:
I have been teaching in one form or another throughout my life. In the past 10 years I have been teaching ESOL to International students at a secondary school, getting them through NCEA English exams. I am a fully registered New Zealand secondary school teacher and am employed as a relieving teacher when work becomes available.
Tutoring Approach:
I see home tutoring as akin to homeschooling, at which I am very experienced. I aim to provide a positive, supportive and friendly learning environment in which the student is encouraged to become self-motivated.
