Personal Description:

I was born and raised here in New Zealand and speak fluent, native-level English. As an avid learner of languages, with a degree in Chinese and te reo Maori as well as conversational fluency in Hindi-Urdu, I have a wealth of experience in language learning.
I value English language, literature, and history and know how important English is to you.
My qualifications are:
-BA in Chinese and te Reo Maori from the UoA
-TEFL 120-hour certificate from the TEFL Academy
-GradDip in Secondary Education from AUT

I am currently pursuing postgraduate studies at the UoA with the aim of obtaining a doctoral degree.

Tutoring Experience:

My English teaching experience began in my first year out of high school in 2013 when I taught English to elderly members of the Botany Downs community from Saint Columba Presbyterian Church.
I have been a private English tutor for teenagers since 2019 and after obtaining my secondary teaching diploma I taught in a progressive, community-focused high school in south Auckland until I left this year to pursue postgraduate studies at the UoA.

Tutoring Approach:

My tuition is conducted online and takes a 'learning through doing' approach. Learners will undertake tasks that challenge their logical and communication skills focusing on strong writing and articulate expression.
I believe that English should be a sign of your education, intelligence, and skill.
