Personal Description:

Hello! My name is Tara, and I am currently pursuing a MSc (Research) in Chemistry at University College Cork (UCC). I recently graduated at the top of my class with a first-class honours in Chemistry with Forensic Science at UCC, earning recognition through various awards (ThermoFisher Organic Chemistry award) and scholarships for my academic excellence.

I am deeply enthusiastic about teaching and learning, and I am committed to helping students reach their full potential. Whether it's building a foundation in Chemistry or tackling more advanced topics, I’m here to help!

Tutoring Experience:

I have hands-on experience tutoring chemistry from my role as a Peer Assistant Leader at UCC, where I tutored first-year students in weekly sessions throughout the academic year.

Currently, I demonstrate chemistry lab sessions at UCC for both Master's and Bachelor students. In this role, I assist them with their experiments, explain the underlying principles, and ensure they develop a solid understanding of the subject.

Approach to Grinds:

My approach centres on creating a student-focused environment where students feel comfortable sharing their concerns. This allows me to pinpoint their exact needs and provide targeted support. I believe that a strong understanding of the basics is essential for building confidence and mastering more advanced topics.

I tailor each session to the individual needs of the student, giving them the flexibility to shape the sessions in a way that works best for them. Whether it’s focusing on specific problem areas or exploring broader concepts, I’m here to guide and adapt to their learning style.
