Personal Description:

I am a qualified secondary school Irish teacher with 10 years teaching experience. I graduated with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Irish and Geography in 2013 and a year later I graduated with a Professional Diploma in Education from NUI Galway in 2014. Since then I have been teaching Irish to all levels and have developed a great knowledge of the Irish course. I have a great love for the language and a passion for teaching the language to others.

Tutoring Experience:

I have experience teaching Irish at higher and ordinary level at both Junior and Leaving Certificate level. I have taught in all types of schools from single sex to mixed over the past ten years. As a result of this experience, I am able to share this knowledge with students and get them more confident in each aspect of Irish such as reading, writing, listening and speaking. I have also spent time working in Irish summer colleges in the West of Ireland.

Approach to Grinds:

I am very flexible in my approach and will cater for the needs of the student. I will aim to develop the students ability across all areas of the course including oral fluency, aural work (using past exam papers & additional resources such as RnaG/TG4), essay writing including debate/speech writing, reading comprehension, studied texts and intensive work on grammar, sentence structure and vocab.
