Personal Description:
I am a 32 year old full time teacher. I have completed a Bachelor of Arts in History and Politics, a Masters in History, and a Professional Diploma in Education. I am registered with the Irish Teaching Council and fully Garda Vetted as per professional regulations.
Tutoring Experience:
I have taught in both mixed and same sex schools, DEIS schools; in addition to working with students with special educational needs. In my teaching experience I have been fortunate enough to have the opportunity to teach history on a number of different levels from First Year to Leaving Certificate.
Approach to Grinds:
I prefer to determine how the student learns themselves, for instance, verbally or through re-writing, in coming up with the best way to make the subject matter and study plans relate-able. I had very good tutors in UL whom I learned a great deal from. This allows me to analyse a piece of work and see if the content can be improved. I am also able to advise as to what examiners would be looking for in certain topics through my experiences.
