Information About Sarah-Anne - Kildare tutor

Personal Description:

I graduated from Maynooth University in 2019 after 3 years of an English and History degree. While in Maynooth I took some special topics in War, Terrorism and Global Security, and Anthropology as I love to study cultures.
In 2022 I completed my professional master's in education and have been teaching in second-level schools since. This master's and my experience teaching has given me a great insight into the philosophy behind teaching and has helped me learn to be adaptable to my students in many ways to help them not just study a subject but make it their own.
I also enjoy poetry and studying the different ways you can use language to express yourself, music and fencing!

Tutoring Experience:

I will begin my fifth year teaching second level in September.
I have also a year of tutoring/ teaching PLC students under my belt. #
I have been working as an EFL teacher on and off for several years now, providing lessons to both adults and young people for a range of exams, Trinity and Cambridge, also as part of summer camps.

Approach to Grinds:

With grinds, I aim to tailor to what my students need. I want them to feel confident in the subject and understand that they can make it work for them, they do not have to work for the subject.

I do tailor all of my grinds to work with the national curriculum and allow for student's understanding of what exactly they are being asked to do, I rather students gain confidence and knowledge that they can utilize whatever the situation.

I find many times when students request help in English or history, it is to do with their expression, I work with each personal case to find what suits best for them so they can be comfortable in their ability to complete their classwork and education.

I believe practice makes perfect so there will be work given to take home. This will be given back with comprehensive feedback.
