Personal Description:

I have been teaching Home Economics for 22 years and have examined all areas of both the Junior and Senior cycle courses. I have corrected the leaving Certificate Food Studies Journals regularly since 2002. I am passionate about my subject and love helping my students understand and remember course content.

Tutoring Experience:

I have 22 years of teaching experience. In this time I have taught girls and boys with all levels of academic ability. My students excel in Home Economics with over 60% of my students achieving H2 and above.

Approach to Grinds:

I will focus on key areas of Nutrients, foods and diets to begin with to ensure an excellent understanding of these areas which constantly appear on leaving cert papers year after year. I will ensure you understand the content, are aware of the most important information within each section and show you how to approach answering questions on the topic. Answering technique is Key to getting a good grade, I will teach you how to structure your answers. I also will put a lot of focus on Section A short questions, this section is often the difference between getting the H1 or H2 and students often don't give it enough attention. Answering compulsory Q1 Section B will also need time and attention I have notes on how to structure this question to maximise your grade!
