Information About Paula - Westport tutor

Personal Description:

I am a qualified teacher in both Maths and Geography. I am currently teaching Junior and Senior students. I teach in a school in Mayo and live in Westport so I would be available to give grinds within the Westport area.

Tutoring Experience:

I have experience teaching Geography and Maths to both Junior Cycle and Senior Cycle students in a South Dublin school. I correct state examinations so I understand what a student needs to provide in order to gain maximum marks from each question. This is a skill that is often overlooked and is essential when coupled with subject knowledge.
I have worked on the Special Educational Needs team in my school and I understand that some students require an alternative approach with their learning. I am fully qualified to work with SEN students and would be confident in facilitating lessons in any discipline to a Junior Cycle student.

Approach to Grinds:

Online approach or in person.
Exam- focused.
Revision of topics, questions assigned and then feedback provided on assigned questions.

There is no shortcuts you can take in order to be successful in examinations. I believe it is important to work hard in order to achieve good results. With this in mind, I will work hard for my students and I will tailor my teaching style to their learning needs. I will help my students prepare for the examinations they are going to be sitting through study, questioning and written practice. A positive mental attitude and a comfortable learning environment are important with dealing with the pressures of exams, and this is something I can help achieve.
