Personal Description:

Hi all, I'm Patrick! I'm 31 years old and grew up in Bray, Co.Wicklow.

I went to St.Gerard's School in Bray, did a Bachelors in Physics at Trinity College Dublin, a Masters in Physics at Groningen, The Netherlands and have recently finished my PhD in Physics at TU Delft, The Netherlands.

During my spare time I like to hang out with friends, go to the gym, DJ and hike!

Tutoring Experience:

• I have given Maths and Physics grinds for over 10 years.

• Helped numerous Junior and Leaving Cert students in Maths and Physics.

• Taught Maths to a primary school student.

• Taught numerous university students advanced-level Physics (Quantum Mechanics, Semiconductor Physics).

Was a teaching assistant for a Bachelors Maths course (Mathematics for Chemistry) and a 3rd year university course (Advanced Quantum Mechanics).

Approach to Grinds:

Everyone goes at their own pace! Maths and Physics are difficult subjects which can no doubt be daunting when trying to study them. My approach is to strike a fine balance between:

• Having the fundamental background knowledge and start working from there.

• Having the practical knowledge and know-how to pass the exams (Marking schemes for Junior/Leaving Cert, expectations for university exams).

• Managing the stress, frustration and lack of confidence that can come when studying these difficult subjects.
