Personal Description:

I am 49 years old, Ive been tutoring for a while now, I can offer references from past students and parents, saying how delighted they were with my tutoring. I am very patient with students, and I want students to stop me when dont they understand something. I dont care how many times a student needs to ask questions so that they "get it", that's the important thing to me.

Tutoring Experience:

I have given maths grinds before through First Tutors Ireland, prior to the COVID-19 pandemic. I am glad to say that every student, no matter if they were failing in maths, never failed an exam with me, and most achieved better than expected results.
One student needed a "C" in Higher Level maths in his leaving Cert to get into aeronautical engineering in the University of Limerick, he had failed his Christmas exam and his leaving cert mock exam, but after spending just 3 months with me, got a C+ in his leaving certificate maths exam, meaning he didnt have to complete the separate maths exam to get in.
I am offering extra, I also studied electronics and computing, so if you are struggling in Computer Science at Leaving Cert, I also offer that as a subject. I can be particularly helpful on coding, and helping you develop your coding skills. I have studied and used a range of programming languages e.g. scripti9ng languagesHTML/CSS and javascript for website development, high-level programming languages such as C/C++, Pascal, etc and low-level languages such as assembly language (NAMSM/TASM/MASM) for the embedded systems part of the Computer Science syllabus at Leaving cert.

Approach to Grinds:

I tailor grinds to a students specific needs, focusing most on the particular areas of difficulty the student has, one student even had the confidence to correct their secondary school teacher, when they made a mistake in Trigonometry, because they had such a solid understanding. I often find, that due to their lack of knowledge or understanding, their confidence level in their own ability to do maths suffers. But I believe, and I have shown it repeatedly, that anyone can understand maths (and now computing), if they are shown the right way.
