I believe it is important to first understand the fundamental aspects of the course content, and then work on relevant exam questions. This method has been tried and tested by me and many others and is proven to work. I believe detailed worked examples and solutions are a key factor in understanding the basics of problem solving and base most of my lessons around describing each step in as much detail as needed to give the head start.
