Personal Description:
Hello, my name is Nicole and I’m from the West Coast of Ireland. I’ve been teaching now for 7 years.
I love the outdoors and being beside the sea!
I have a FETAC level 5 in Applied Social studies (GTI), A Bachelor of Arts in Early Years and Childhood Studies (U.C.C) and a Professional Masters of Education in Primary (Hibernia College Dublin). I also have a 120 hour TEFL certificate.
I have worked as a primary school teacher in various different school settings in Ireland and the U.K.
I have worked as a Special Education Teacher for children ages 6 - 12. I help children with various learning difficulties with reading, writing and maths as well as social skills.
Finally, I teach English online to adults living and working in Ireland. We have been focusing on conversational language and grammar. I also teach English lessons online to children of varrying levels.
Tutoring Experience:
I have 3 years preschool education experience that I achieved whilst living in Galway, Ireland. I have two years teaching experience in London, England where I taught Reception and then Year 1. I also have a TEFL certificate and spent some time volunteering in Cambodia, teaching children English. I LOVE that lightbulb moment and seeing progress of my students.
I was the Phonics Lead and provided training to other members of staff in London. I helped children prepare for the Year 1 Phonics Check.
Approach to Grinds:
My teaching approach is student-centered, focusing on building confidence and communication skills in both English as a Second Language (ESL) and English. I use a range of techniques tailored to each student's needs, learning style and intrests, ensuring a supportive and engaging learning environment. I integrate phonics into my lessons to strengthen pronunciation, reading, and spelling skills, particularly for younger learners and those needing to develop a strong foundation in the language. My goal is to make learning an enjoyable and interactive experience, where students feel empowered to achieve their full potential.
Let's learn together and have fun while doing it!
