Personal Description:

With a BA (HONS) degree in Business, I am a qualified teacher in Accounting, Business and Business Studies. I am also a qualified in Special education and provide lessons for students who require additional support in a variety of subjects. Creating a sense of excitement about learning is something I am really passionate about. I believe learning about Business and Accounting is crucial for the development of young people, it will assist in building a strong foundation for the future outside of school and college. As a teacher, it is my role to provide opportunities for all, regardless of ability, and to ensure that everyone has a positive experience.

I have a number of years experience teaching both junior and leaving Cert Business Studies. I develop plans and deliver lessons that encourage student achievement and pride myself in creating an approach to teaching that considers the needs of all students. Within business studies I teach lessons with up-to-date knowledge of the subject matter which is hugely beneficial for answering questions in the state exams which relates the subject content to the real world.

I have a diploma in Special educational needs and experience working with students with various additional needs. I have experience in adapting subject content for junior and leaving cert subjects and provide strategies to allow students to access the curriculum at their own pace and ability.

Tutoring Experience:

I have been teaching for a number of years in post primary education. Throughout this time I have been offering extra tuition, correcting state exams and working as a superintendent and exam aide during the state exams.

I have a number of years experience teaching students with additional needs in a variety of subjects to ensure they have the neccessary support in accessing the necessary curriculum. I cater my lessons, notes and resources to suit the students individual needs.

Approach to Grinds:

My approach to grinds is to ensure the student’s needs are met by going at an appropriate pace where the student can understand the content of the subject.

In business studies for preparation in junior and leaving cert I focus on exam papers to ensure students gain the knowledge and skills needed to approach questions using the appropriate exam techniques. The focus will consist on answer styles and timing for each question. I ensure students are equipped with study skills techniques which they will be able to transfer to other subject areas.
