Personal Description:
My name is Natalie and I am living in Nenagh, Co. Tipperary. I am a passionate English and History teacher with over six years experience teaching post-primary students. I have a BA (Hons) in English and History and Professional Masters in Education.
Tutoring Experience:
I have been teaching English at both junior and senior level, and History at junior level for over six years. I have experience with both ordinary and higher level in both subjects. I have also been tutoring on the side for the last 6 years and have experience teaching students with additional educational needs also.
Approach to Grinds:
Tutoring begins with an assessment of the student's current level of attainment, including a review of work and teacher reports. This will provide me with knowledge of where the student requires help and allow me to create lessons tailored specifically to the student's needs.
My approach is very much a hands on approach as I write essay answers with the student, provide necessary notes and practices exam style questions.
My aim is to provide the student with the help they need in order to become confident in themselves and their own ability.

By way of background, my daughter has some processing delays and qualifies for both the typing the “rest break” accommodations in the exam. It is fair to say she was finding the English syllabus quite challenging, particularly getting all the questions answered within the time allowed.
We were very impressed with how quickly Natalie accessed her ability level and focussed her in on the essence of the syllabus. We began with face-to-face tutorials, but, due to travel time, switched to virtual sessions after the first month, which worked equally well. Natalie is excellent at working with my daughter to practice providing the best possible answer, while carefully managing the time and has built up her confidence in her ability to do herself justice in the exam.
I have no hesitation in recommending Natalie for tutorials in either face to face or virtual settings.
