Information About Mary - Castleisland tutor

Personal Description:

I am a language expert graduated from UCC in 2023. I speak French, Spanish and Irish. I am currently living in Spain and offering both 1 to 1 tutoring and group classes. I have taught in school both in Ireland and in Spain. I will cater my class to each student and what their ideal learning goals are.

I have also received a H1 in my leaving cert Geography as well as being awarded the Gwenda Hurst Award for submitting the most meritorious paper in LC HL geography. I received high marks in my leaving certificate and hope to be able to share this knowledge and these notes with any student who needs it.

Tutoring Experience:

Spanish Irish and French grinds
Teaching English to Spanish students ages 6-25
Subteaching in Primary schools in Ireland
Subteaching in Second Level Schools in ireland

Approach to Grinds:

Its very important to acknowledge that every student has their own learning techniques and learning abilities so I like to establish how the student themselves can maximise their learning experience through different learning and teaching methods. With languages, oral work is really important especially for the leaving certificate so I like to spend atleast 1/4 of the class focussing on just everyday conversation, pronunciation and confidence in speaking.
In a classroom based setting students often are just taught ABC but I think it is important to focus on understanding the materials being taught in order to be able to apply them to the exam and for everyday life.
