Personal Description:

I am a 4th year Biomedical Engineering Student on track to complete my Masters degree next year. I achieved all As in my Junior Cert and Leaving Cert, taking JC Maths and Science and LC Maths, Biology, Chemistry and Physics so I know exactly what it is like to be in your shoes!

Tutoring Experience:

I started teaching Junior and Leaving Cert grinds a few years ago when I realised how satisfying it is to pass on tips and tricks that I wish someone had told me when I was in school. Message me for a free trial session and let's see how I can best help you!

Approach to Grinds:

I am by no means a genius but I do believe there are methods to achieving better grades, methods which allowed me to achieve all As in my Junior Cert and all H1s in my Leaving Cert! I also took Junior Cycle Maths and Science and Leaving Cert Maths, Biology, Chemistry and Physics so I know exactly what it is like to be in your shoes!

All students are entitled to an initial trial session (free of charge) where I can assess what level the student is currently at and what their academic aims and goals are - from there we can devise a plan that aligns with those goals. (Parents may attend this session if they do so wish).

I will be focusing on using study methods that have been scientifically proven to be more effective than rote-learning or any other 'traditional' learning methods. These methods have worked for myself and many of my peers.

By breaking down subjects into their various components and tackling different subjects with different techniques we can make the studying process a lot less daunting and more manageable and encouraging for students!

Students will receive Distinction/H1 standard notes, sample answers, past papers to assist them with their learning.

A typical lesson consists of the following layout:

- If there is a class test coming up or a particular homework/continuous assessment assignment due soon this will be targeted first to ensure the student can keep on top of current class work
- Then we will begin revising a topic from the study plan we created, starting from the topics the student struggles the most with and working backwards to topics the student finds easiest. (Notes will be provided)
- To finish off the lesson, we will do sample past paper questions based on the topic revised and I will set some basic work to encourage the student to continue working until the next lesson we have together.

In between lessons, my students can email/whatsapp me with any queries they have and I will try my best to respond as soon as possible :)
