Personal Description:

I focus on grammar and vocabulary, to enable the student to maximise their potential to learn German as quickly as possible. I speak German during class to facilitate that also, having worked as a translator in Berlin for 2 years. I visit Berlin frequently and love speaking German. I have a good understanding of the difficulties students in all age groups have with learning foreign languages, as I teach mature students also. I do not teach third-level German.

Tutoring Experience:

I have been giving private tuition in German to secondary school students and mature students for 7 years. I am happy to cover any part of the German school curriculum. I work to make the grinds enjoyable - learning and speaking a foreign language should be fun and interesting, whilst mastering grammar and vocabulary. I also have experience of Business German, having studied it at the Berlin Chamber of Commerce. I teach piano also, so have a lot of experience as a teacher.

Approach to Grinds:

I do tuition via Zoom, which works well. It is preferable to speak German during grinds to maximise learning but this is tailored to student ability. The arrangement is pay-as-you-go and I am flexible regarding timing. I also do conversation classes with mature students.
