Personal Description:
Hi, I'm Kate and I have 30 years' experience working in the Irish school system as a secondary school language teacher. I teach all levels up to Leaving Cert Honours, and have taught at 3rd level also. Fully qualified : M.Sc. B.A. (Hons.) H. Dip. Garda vetted, Teaching Council registered.
I can offer online lessons via Zoom, or face-to-face if you prefer.
Tutoring Experience:
Second level school teacher up to Leaving Cert Honours since 1993. Leaving Certificate higher level German, French and Spanish for many years.
Approach to Grinds:
Every student is different, so I listen to you and assess your areas of concern, before preparing with you a strategy to get you the best grade possible. The most important factor which affects outcomes is motivation, so if a student is motivated, I will go the extra mile to help.
Terms of Service:
First lesson payable in advance. Thereafter payment monthly (4 sessions) in advance. Refunds will not be given in the case of illness as the pupil’s place is reserved. In the case of holidays during term time, please give at least one week's notice in order to receive credit toward the next month’s tuition sessions. If the Tutor needs to cancel a lesson, as much notice as possible will be given and the Client will receive credit toward the next month’s tuition sessions.

She gave her that extra confidence to handle her oral, in fact her examiner asked her if she had German speaking parents at home! :) She also gave her that little extra push and helped prepare her well for the written exam. We couldn't recommend her enough.

She managed in a very short period of time to help gain his confidence back and understand some fundamental grammar and verbs necessary for constructing simple sentences. He has done very well since returning to school in his German class and has expressed interest in continuing to take classes with Katie during his holidays!

He is much more confident about Spanish and because of his increased learning he is actually enjoying the subject. Kate is excellent at understanding what Shane needs in terms of tutoring so that for him the 1hr a week is something he looks forward to. I would highly recommend Kate for Language Tutoring.
