Personal Description:
I am a Dutch native but spent most of my life living outside of the Netherlands. I moved to Brussels in 1991 where I studied translation Dutch, French and Russian. During my studies I took out a year to live in both Moscow and Paris. I got my Master's degree in 1996 and moved to Ireland in 1997. I have since worked in different companies always using my knowledge of the French language.
Tutoring Experience:
I have taught French one-to-one classes on a regular basis over the past couple of years. I was also involved with teaching French to children aged 4-12 with "La Jolie ronde" in Ennis between 2012 and 2014.
Approach to Grinds:
Obviously, the grinds will entirely focus on the difficulties the student experiences with the subject. The best way to learn a language is to be exposed to it as much as possible. Therefore, I would speak in French as much as possible. Obviously more tricky subjects like the grammar will be taught in English. I think you need a bit of a fun element to make it interesting as well. Depending on the issues, I will try to introduce these as much as possible. And last but not least, I think the most important skill for a tutor to have is to listen, this is the only way to find out what the real issues are, in relation to the subject.
