Personal Description:
Hi there! I am an incoming PhD student in Social Anthropology, specialising in the studies of art and technology. I am a recent Master’s graduate (Distinction) from the University College London. My academic background and passions span across the social sciences, creative writing in academia and fieldwork methods.
Tutoring Experience:
I have experience teaching students of all ages up to 18, in both 1:1 and group settings. I have designed and conducted tutoring courses for international, academic summer camps. I am UK DBS checked.
Approach to Grinds:
1. Discuss current approach to subject and studying with student, identify challenging aspects and emotions towards the work.
2. Design dynamic lesson plan (with varying activities, appropriate to age and skill level of student) which boosts confidence and challenges critical thinking skills.
3. Reinforce and reward progress and growth through feedback forms and reflective sessions with student.
I am someone who has experience using tutors throughout high school and then proceeded to have great success within further education. I am a firm believer that a positive learning environment - that provides extra attention and a student-guided pace - can be fantastic for boosting a student’s confidence and skill at any given subject.
