Personal Description:

I am a passionate and dedicated educator currently pursuing a Professional Master of Education (PME) in Post Primary Education at DCU.

I have a strong background in science and an enthusiasm for teaching Biology, Chemistry, and Junior Cycle Science. My goal as an educator is to inspire students to develop a love for science.

I am committed to creating a supportive and engaging learning environment for my students, and I take pride in helping them build the skills and knowledge they need to succeed.

Tutoring Experience:

I am currently studying for a Professional Master of Education (PME) in Post Primary Education at DCU, where I am gaining valuable teaching experience through my school placement.

During this placement, I teach Junior Certificate Science as well as Leaving Certificate Biology and Chemistry to secondary school students. This hands-on experience has allowed me to plan and deliver engaging lessons, manage classrooms effectively, and develop a deeper understanding of how to meet the diverse needs of students.

In addition to my formal teaching experience, I have also provided private grinds in these subjects. This has given me the opportunity to work one-on-one with students, tailoring my teaching to their individual strengths and areas for improvement.

This combination of classroom and grinds experience has honed my ability to explain complex concepts in an accessible and relatable way, while also focusing on exam preparation and performance

Approach to Grinds:

I believe that every student is unique in how they learn and process information. My approach is tailored to the individual needs of each student, ensuring that the pace, style, and focus of the lessons suit them best.

To achieve this, I use a combination of clear, structured resources to present key concepts in science, biology, and chemistry, followed by practical application through exam paper questions. This allows students to develop a deep understanding of the subject matter while also familiarising themselves with what is expected in the exams.

By guiding students through the marking schemes, I help them recognise patterns, understand how to structure their answers, and gain insight into how marks are allocated. This ensures they not only grasp the material but also develop the skills needed to succeed in their exams.
