Information About Heather - Dublin tutor

Personal Description:

I am a third year college student studying Applied Languages and Translation with German and Spanish at Dublin City University. Therefore, I am learning both languages intensively every day. I am hard-working and studious. I am very passionate about languages and enjoy sharing my knowledge with others.

Tutoring Experience:

I have been studying German for the past eight years: six years in secondary school and two years in university. I have been studying Spanish for the past two years at University level. I was top of my Leaving Certificate German class and therefore, I was often asked by other students to help them with their understanding. I remain top of my class in University(receiving first-class honours grades in both languages in second year) and often help my peers and friends with their grammar and translations. Additionally, I have been teaching English to refugees as part of the Irish Refugee Network at Dublin City University over the last year and a half and teaching English as a foreign language via Zoom for the past year. Furthermore, I regularly upload notes to Studyclix suitable for LC and JC students who may be studying German, Spanish,classical studies and art history, to help them with their learning and achieve high grades in their state exams, the same as I did.

Approach to Grinds:

In the first grind I will ask the student to take a learning style quiz and ask them about their target grade and their preferred methods of learning. I will tailor the grinds accordingly to ensure maximum understanding of the content. I would prefer to teach grinds through Zoom, however I am happy to teach in-person grinds to students within my locality. If the student wishes, I can record each lesson on Zoom and send it to them after so they can later review the lessons. I will also assign small amounts of homework following each grind to reinforce the content taught. Additionally, I can send any notes by email or message following each lesson. I will work through exam papers with the student to sufficiently prepare them for State Examinations and vocabulary, grammar, listening and writing skills will be taught. I will try to make each grind as interactive and enjoyable as possible as I feel this is the best way for the student to learn and remember information.
