Personal Description:
I graduated with a 1st class degree in Science Teaching and also a 1st class degree in Maths for Teaching from University of Limerick. I am highly organised and motivated. I am a friendly and positive person and believe a good student teacher relationship is key to effective learning.
Tutoring Experience:
I have 8 years teaching experience at both Higher and Ordinary Level in my subjects. I have corrected Biology and Chemistry Pre-Leaving Cert Exams. I have taken part in a PhD study that allowed me to use different strategies that assisted pupils in overcoming their own misconceptions in their subjects.
I have also delivered online classes and grinds for the past number of years. These are to a very high standard
Approach to Grinds:
My approach to grinds is very much student centered, with the main focus being on equipping students of all abilities in accessing the curriculum. Providing notes, catered for the sudent's needs, is essential. Exam question practice is focused on to maximise students' exam performance. Formative feedback is also necessary. It is important students are aware of their specific areas for improvement.
