40 years experience.Have taught all levels up to college level Individual or group grinds.Online tuition through zoom so area not a problem Have taught both Irish and Maths at Primary and second level,prepared students for Junior and Leaving Cert at all levels,have run Irish Summer Camps,Have prepared for Irish orals,Hibernia interview,OCG,TEG and in Maths to Primary,second Level ,Junior Cert and Leaving Cert,Foundation,Ordinary and Higher Levels, UCC and CIT students.Have also prepared students for GRE,GAMSAT and QQ4 Maths exams as well as CIT entry exam in August Have worked in area of Special Needs for 8 years
Approach to Grinds:
Very individualised.An initial assessment followed by an IEP.Homework is given based on each lesson and marked before next lesson to enhance learning and tailor lesson to student's needs Same procedure online.Lesson proceeds at each learner's own pacel
Also provide workshops and group grinds.Notes provided for same.I find groups work really well as students learn from each others questions and share tips.This has been proven by results achieved.There is a maximum of 6 in a group and session is 25 as opposed to 40 for individual rate

I initially had wanted one to one but Ger had no availability for this so I opted for the group setting. And this actually has been better for my daughter and she really is enjoying the lesson every week. Ger sets up a WhatsApp group and keeps you up to date. I would highly recommend her.

Ger quickly identified areas of weakness and is using a variety of methods and resources to give support in these areas. She simplifies maths concepts and explains how to read exams questions properly and interpret questions. Super organized and very efficient in responding to any queries also. She is really well-versed in her subject (Gaeilge) but still manages to put the student at ease particularly as in my case I am a relative novice to the topic. What a difference it has been to have one-to-one contact with an experienced teacher rather than having to cope with the rather more layback attitude of some teachers teaching Gaeilge to approx. 12 students on some on-line sites.

My son struggles with Irish and as a result does not particularly like Irish. Since starting Weekly Irish Grinds with Ger, his confidence and knowledge of Irish has notably improved. He is actually enjoying the sessions each week and has learned so much . Ger covers Junior cycle and goes through the exam papers and questions to prepare the individuals and make them familiar with the paper layout and how to approach each question, which is a valuable tool.

From tutoring students in maths myself I understand it is a difficult task to convey concepts of complexity in a simplistic and tailored manner such as Ger does. In fact, she makes it look easy.

From Gerard (/5): (Junior Cycle Maths) When I approached Ger I was seriously worried about the slide in results my daughter had taken.She seemed to be completely mentally blocked from making any progress.From the moment I met Ger I knew my daughter was in good hands and within an hour Ger had identified the root cause of my daughters difficulties.She built perspective around it for me took the fear out of maths for my daughter and deals with it in very manageable chunks.I can see a complete turnaround in my daughters happiness and attitude.If you met her you will soon see she is completely tuned into the student in a very engaging way.I can strongly recommend her and I could not put a value on what she has given my daughter
