Personal Description:

I am a native Irish speaker from a Gaeltacht in Mayo but I'm currently located in Galway. I have experience in teaching, translating, and transcribing Irish and have aided students at all levels to achieve their best grades. I also do a lot of work with the Irish language through organizing and facilitating Irish language and bilingual events, creative work through Irish, and the community development of Irish.

Tutoring Experience:

For the past four years, I have facilitated a Ciorcal Comhrá/Irish language discussion group in Galway. I have helped primary and secondary students with Irish in Irish language summer camps and colleges as an instructor as well as working as a Bean an Tí for a summer college. During my time in secondary school and university, I tutored students in Irish and helped them with corrections. For four years I also worked as a babysitter for a family of three where I practiced Irish with them.

Approach to Grinds:

I help the students set and achieve specific goals based on what they need to work on. I strongly believe in building confidence with the language as a way of learning so I encourage and work on oral practice with them. I am also open to any format of grinds that suits the individual for example if the student has a love of music we would try to use Irish language music as an approach to learning. I hope to pass on my passion for the Irish language to every individual that I teach and make the lessons an enjoyable experience.
