Personal Description:

I am a fully qualified teacher of Mathematics and German and I have an Hons Degree in both these subjects from Trinity College Dublin. I am registered with the teaching council and garda vetted. I have a passion for making the subject of Mathematics more accessible to ALL students and I am very committed to helping students improve their confidence in this subject and thus achieve higher grades. I have worked as an examiner for the Leaving Cert Higher level Mathematics exam and I specialise in helping students prepare for and do well in the exams.

Tutoring Experience:

I have over 20 years teaching experience and 4 years online expert exam-targeted tutoring experience. I also worked with the South African Department of Education giving workshops to teachers in Strategies to Improve Mathematics Results in that country. I have a wealth of targeted revision material in different formats to further help students achieve higher grades. I have a very patient and supportive approach towards imparting knowledge.

Approach to Grinds:

Having firstly formed a positive relationship with the student and listened to their exact needs, I have an indepth, targeted approach to building confidence, mastering of subject content and improving exam techniques to ensure students achieve the best grade possible in the state exams. In particular, I specialise in Leaving Cert Higher Level Mathematics. I have extensive experience with both students aiming for a H6 for bonus points or a H1 and H2. I have a proven track record with results to back it up. Constant exam question exposure and mastery of the format and phraseology of these questions, especially at higher level, is crucial to doing well. I provide each student with detailed, invaluable cheat and summary sheets on each exam question topic, as well as powerpoints to re-inforce the skills and concept knowledge required. Students also have the option of having a lesson recorded if they want to go back over more difficult topics again in their own time.
