Information About Eimear - Edenderry tutor

Personal Description:

I'm a qualified primary school teacher in my 10th year of full time teaching. I currently teaching in SET but have worked with children of all ages and needs (ASD class, 5th class and 2nd). I previously gave grinds in my home town but am now relocated to the midlands and and willing to help where I can to ensure that you're child reaches their full potential.

Tutoring Experience:

My first two years of teaching mostly involved working with those with additional needs within a mainstream school setting. During this time I worked in schools in both urban and rural areas. I have since worked as a second and fifth class and ASD teacher. I spent a summer teaching disadvantaged children in India, another summer as an overnight camp coordinator in Canada whereby activities were to be arranged on a daily basis for campers and six summers working with children with autistic spectrum disorder here in Ireland. I have also completed courses with the dyslexic association of Ireland and worked along side them providing home tuition for those who needed a little extra help in various curricular areas.

Approach to Grinds:

I first meet with the child and parent/guardian to discuss what area the child needs extra support in. I then complete simple assessments with the child to enable me to best decide what level to begin working at. I also believe in letting the children have a say in the lessons as it is them that can best point out where they struggle. I try to build up a trusting relationship so that the child is comfortable asking me for help in whatever it may be that they find difficult.
